The Apology Strategy

Hugh Grant is at the police station, and the officer asks: “Mr. Grant, why did you do it? You have Elizabeth Hurley at home!”
Hugh sighs, adjusts his tie, and says in his stuttering voice: “Well, you see… I was just practicing for my next movie role. It’s a very gritty, very method-acting piece called ‘What Was I Thinking?’ Unfortunately, the director hasn’t written the ending yet, so I’m hoping this mugshot counts as a rehearsal.”
