Welcome to 2014 – the year the office got soaking wet thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge and everyone started ditching internal emails for a purple app called Slack. It’s the era of the iPhone 6 (and the fear of it bending in your pocket), the debut of Amazon Alexa (bringing a new voice into our homes), and the release of Interstellar, which perfectly described how a one-hour meeting can feel like seven years on a different planet. While the world is obsessing over the “Oscars Selfie,” we’re just trying to figure out if our data is safe after the “Heartbleed” bug and why everyone is suddenly wearing Flappy Bird-inspired frowns.

74 Office Groaners: The 2013 “Vine & Let It Go” Edition

Welcome to 2013 – the year Microsoft admitted its mistake and released Windows 8.1, bringing back the “Start” button, and the world went Vine-mad, trying to encapsulate office life in 6-second loops. It’s the year GTA V launched (which destroyed what little focus IT departments had left) and Chromecast debuted. Offices are humming “Let It Go” as they try to manage their growing pile of unread emails, and Slack is slowly knocking on the door, promising the death of internal email.
