78 Office Groaners: The 2017 “Fidget Spinners & FaceID” Edition

Welcome to 2017 – the year the office sounded like a swarm of bees thanks to Fidget Spinners and everyone started staring at their phones just to unlock them. It’s the year Apple deleted the Home button with the iPhone X, forcing us to master “gestures” like we were performing magic tricks. While the IT department is busy “mining” Bitcoin on the company servers, everyone else is under their desks playing The Legend of Zelda on the newly launched Nintendo Switch. It’s the year of Salt BaeWonder Woman, and the Great Solar Eclipse that gave everyone a 2-minute excuse to stand in the parking lot and look at the sun.

77 Office Groaners: The 2015 “The Dress & Windows 10” Edition

Welcome to 2015 – the year the office nearly imploded over whether “The Dress” was blue and black or white and gold (it was a productivity disaster). It’s the year Microsoft finally apologized for everything by releasing Windows 10, the Apple Watch arrived to make us look at our wrists every 30 seconds, and the phrase “Netflix and Chill” became the most awkward thing for a manager to say at a staff meeting. While we’re all saying goodbye to Internet Explorer, we’re saying hello to Apple Music and trying to figure out why everyone is suddenly obsessed with “Left Shark.”

74 Office Groaners: The 2014 “Ice Buckets & iPhone 6” Edition

Welcome to 2014 – the year the office got soaking wet thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge and everyone started ditching internal emails for a purple app called Slack. It’s the era of the iPhone 6 (and the fear of it bending in your pocket), the debut of Amazon Alexa (bringing a new voice into our homes), and the release of Interstellar, which perfectly described how a one-hour meeting can feel like seven years on a different planet. While the world is obsessing over the “Oscars Selfie,” we’re just trying to figure out if our data is safe after the “Heartbleed” bug and why everyone is suddenly wearing Flappy Bird-inspired frowns.

76 Office Groaners: The 2011 “Siri & Google+” Edition

Welcome to 2011 – the year we started talking to our phones and they actually (sometimes) talked back. It’s the year of Siri, the launch of the “Ghost Town” known as Google+, and the final Harry Potter movie that left us wondering what to talk about at the water cooler. While Minecraft is officially leaving Beta to destroy the last of our productivity, iCloud is promising to store our lives in the sky, and everyone is trying to figure out why the boss is suddenly obsessed with “The Cloud” and Snapchat.

83 Office Groaners: The 2010 “iPad & Inception” Edition

Welcome to 2010 – the year we entered a new decade and Steve Jobs asked us to buy a “giant iPhone” called the iPad. It’s the year of Inception, leading every manager to ask if we can have a “meeting within a meeting” to discuss the original meeting. While Instagram is teaching us to put “Earlybird” filters on our sad office salads, Angry Birds has officially replaced Solitaire as the #1 productivity killer. We are living in the future, but we’re still just trying to figure out how to “check-in” to the office on Foursquare.

124 Classic Punny One-Liners: The Siri & Blocky World Edition (2011)

In 2011, we started talking to our phones and they actually started talking back. While Siri was busy giving us sass, Steve Jobs bid his final farewell, leaving a legacy that fit in our pockets. It was the year we all became architects in Minecraft, witnessed the “Royal Wedding” of Will and Kate, and learned that “Winter is Coming” with the debut of Game of Thrones. These puns are voice-activated, built block-by-block, and curated for high-quality eye-rolling.

115 Classic Punny One-Liners: The Instagram & iPad Edition (2010)

The decade kicked off with a shift in perspective. While Instagram made everyone a “professional” photographer and the iPad turned our laps into futuristic workstations, we were also getting lost in the dreams-within-dreams of Inception. It was the year of “Tik Tok” (the Kesha song, not the app), the launch of The Walking Dead, and the emotional farewell to our favorite toys in Toy Story 3. These puns are high-definition, filtered for maximum impact, and ready for a double-tap.
